Funny foods part 1

Sometimes, you have to wonder why manufacturers don't research their brand names.
I know that the English Language hasn't reached everywhere on the planet but I bet the word that this product was named, has pervaded to the far reaches of Ghana.
So, without any fanfare I present Shito.
Last week, it was available as Hot Shito.

Council binmen broke my bin!

So, our local council have taken to emptying our bins every 2 weeks.
The bin in the photo is our bottle recycle bin.
For some reason our local thugs, er I mean 'Refuse collectors', decide that the quickest way to get the bin back to the edge of my property is to throw it onto my drive.
The cheap plastic it is made of then shatters and I'm left with a broken bin.
I now have to make a call to my local council and ask them for a replacement, which I'm sure they will blame me for breaking.

Grrrrr, this is so annoying.

Todmorden Lamplighter Festival 2013

Tonight is/was the 23rd November 2013.
We travelled over to Todmorden and had a fabulous evening.

This article in the Todmorden news that we read prior to going is what made us go.

"There has been a fantastic response to the open workshops for this Saturday’s Lamplighter festival, with well over 220 lanterns made so far in Todmorden and Hebden Bridge.

“Todmorden on Sunday was at capacity, it was so brilliant to see so many people getting excited about the event,” said Hannah Merriman, Handmade Parade co-ordinator.
“With Kidsfest from noon, the Christmas Lights switch on at 4pm and then the Lamplighter event Todmorden is going to be heaving all day.
“We’ve already heard about people coming from all over the region - a great chance for Tod to show off to one and all.”
People should note Lever Street and Union Street South car parks will be closed for the whole of Saturday (November 23). Hannah added: “We apologise for the inconvenience. Free alternative parking can be found at the medical centre car park, and all other town centre car parks are operating as usual.”
Union Street South will also be closed from 4.30pm to 9pm. Residential parking on Dale Street can be negotiated via Bond Street.
A busy day of activities in Todmorden begins with the host of activities at Kidsfest in Todmorden Town Hall from noon to 3.30pm, with a number of community groups and individuals organising plenty for young ones to do.
Then from 4pm Todmorden Community Band and Todmorden Choral Society will play Christmas music and seasonal songs at the Peace Garden next to Todmorden Town Hall, where the Mayor of Todmorden, Coun Jayne Booth, will switch on the town’s Christmas lights at 4.30pm - children will be able to meet Father Christmas.
The Lamplighter lantern parade itself starts at 5.30pm and the illuminated street festival will run from 6pm to 9pm and will also include fire performers, illuminated installations, street bands, shadow puppets, torch-lit belly dancers and night markets - Todmorden Market will be open well into the evening, a chance to do a bit of Christmas shopping and sample a few specially cooked-up treats."

Let the pictures and my video do the talking for me.

More signs gone wrong 4, lots of them.

I couldn't believe my luck today as I walked around my favourite shop.

A lot of signs have been printed with spelling mistakes,
Some really good ones and I can't help myself.
