My first caravan memory from about 1969

Not really caravan touring but this is a caravan related story nonetheless.
Back in the summer of 69 (couldn't resist).
It might not have been summer because we stayed on a farm in the pear orchard in an old static caravan. My mum and 2 sisters and me. We were right next door to an airfield somewhere near Warton or Freckleton . My mum thinks it was British aerospace or something like that and the runway was next to the orchard and I remember it being very noisy. Mum thinks they may have been testing Harrier jump jets. Who knows?
Anyway, we lived off pears for a long time and 1huge tin of dried minestrone soup. Apparently, that's all we had for ages.
Whenever I see minestrone or pears I'm reminded of that caravan. My mum won't touch the stuff anymore.
I was only 4 years old so I'm not 100% on the details of why we were there, but I think we had as much fun as we could under the circumstances. Caravanning played another big part of my life when we moved to Devon in 1977. That's another story for another post in my blog later.

This wasn't our van but it was similar
