Saturday Morning, what shall I do?
I know, I'll go for a walk.
I could do with the exercise after a week sat at my office desk.
A quick walk around our local beauty spot - The Middlebrook.
After a nice walk along the brook, I decide to head back home and what is this?
I appear to have a discovered a late blooming fruit bearing tree.
Some kind of dark, almost black large looking fruit hanging off the branch and look there is another one on the next bush. This next bush has also got a red or orange berry growing from it. Very strange to have 2 vastly different fruits growing from the same tree.
Can anyone identify the black fruit?
Ah, I see, it's dog poo in a doggy bag that has been slung into a tree.
What purpose does this have?
Dog owners who collect their dog poo then bag it then lob it into a tree are a special breed of person.
A lowlife you may think.
Lazy dog owners really grind my gears.
It's not fruit it's a doggy bag
Just chuck it into a tree, nobody will mind
Surely there is something that can be done.
I could start a campaign on the local radio station.
The commercials on my local radio station are always asking if you think you have been mis sold a payment protection insurance PPI, then why not use that advertising space to promote something useful like asking people to clean up properly after their dog.
I bet there are some nasty diseases hanging in our local bushes because the sun will heat up the dog poo and encourage the bacteria to breed, then some unlucky kid is running through the park and manages to break open a rancid bag of rotten dog poo and ingest something nasty.
How do we solve this?
Sometimes, you have to wonder why manufacturers don't research their brand names.
I know that the English Language hasn't reached everywhere on the planet but I bet the word that this product was named, has pervaded to the far reaches of Ghana.
So, without any fanfare I present Shito.
Last week, it was available as Hot Shito.
So, our local council have taken to emptying our bins every 2 weeks.
The bin in the photo is our bottle recycle bin.
For some reason our local thugs, er I mean 'Refuse collectors', decide that the quickest way to get the bin back to the edge of my property is to throw it onto my drive.
The cheap plastic it is made of then shatters and I'm left with a broken bin.
I now have to make a call to my local council and ask them for a replacement, which I'm sure they will blame me for breaking.
Grrrrr, this is so annoying.

Tonight is/was the 23rd November 2013.
We travelled over to Todmorden and had a fabulous evening.
This article in the Todmorden news that we read prior to going is what made us go.
"There has been a fantastic response to the open workshops for this
Saturday’s Lamplighter festival, with well over 220 lanterns made so
far in Todmorden and Hebden Bridge.
“Todmorden on Sunday was at capacity, it was so
brilliant to see so many people getting excited about the event,” said
Hannah Merriman, Handmade Parade co-ordinator.
“With Kidsfest from
noon, the Christmas Lights switch on at 4pm and then the Lamplighter
event Todmorden is going to be heaving all day.
“We’ve already heard about people coming from all over the region - a great chance for Tod to show off to one and all.”
People
should note Lever Street and Union Street South car parks will be
closed for the whole of Saturday (November 23). Hannah added: “We
apologise for the inconvenience. Free alternative parking can be found
at the medical centre car park, and all other town centre car parks are
operating as usual.”
Union Street South will also be closed from 4.30pm to 9pm. Residential parking on Dale Street can be negotiated via Bond Street.
A
busy day of activities in Todmorden begins with the host of activities
at Kidsfest in Todmorden Town Hall from noon to 3.30pm, with a number of
community groups and individuals organising plenty for young ones to
do.
Then from 4pm Todmorden Community Band and Todmorden Choral
Society will play Christmas music and seasonal songs at the Peace Garden
next to Todmorden Town Hall, where the Mayor of Todmorden, Coun Jayne
Booth, will switch on the town’s Christmas lights at 4.30pm - children
will be able to meet Father Christmas.
The Lamplighter lantern
parade itself starts at 5.30pm and the illuminated street festival will
run from 6pm to 9pm and will also include fire performers, illuminated
installations, street bands, shadow puppets, torch-lit belly dancers and
night markets - Todmorden Market will be open well into the evening, a
chance to do a bit of Christmas shopping and sample a few specially
cooked-up treats."
Let the pictures and my video do the talking for me.
