34th trip - Cartmel Racecourse - SLDA Easter 2013

Our Thirty-Fourth trip was a repeat visit to Cartmel Racecourse for 3 nights. We camped again with South Lancs District Association -SLDA. Their website said that there was no snow at Cartmel.
As we left home we had had a bit of snow as you can see.
Camping without electric again and our battery lasted the 3 nights without a problem. I think 4 nights would be a problem. We used quite a lot of gas keeping us warm and I had to go out looking for a petrol station to buy some more propane.
We went on the torch lit night walk which was pretty good and went to the coffee morning on the Easter Monday. We played hoofers and made it through to the semi finals because we had been missed off the knockout sheet and were given byes. It was our first game and we lost.
Saturday night we went in the clubhouse for a social, the lager was very frothy and we won a raffle prize which was good.

It was frosty but not snowy at cartmel

33rd trip - Farmer Parrs near Fleetwood

Our Thirty-Third trip was for 2 nights at Farmers Parr Animal Park on a South Lancs District Association (SLDA) rally.

On our run up to the site we were delayed by a puncture on our caravan, which wasn't much fun.
At first my car felt like it was losing power as I started to ascend a motorway hill then when I looked in my mirror I could see a lot of smoke coming out of my caravan tyre. On the hard shoulder the traffic was very noisy and the caravan was being shaken by every truck that went past and I didn't feel safe changing the wheel so I called out Green Flag who came in about 45 minutes and sorted it out.
Only 8 other caravans were there and we met Eddy and Margaret again, who we'd met at the Easter rally last year at Cartmel.
The site itself is just basically a hard standing on the edge of the farmers' storage area, where he keeps his rubble and broken equipment and muck heap.
The Farm itself is a bit craggy island with a lot of the attractions not on or just absent. This was the 1st of March and the Christmas display was still present in the main hall, but with a few of the Christmas trees simply dead in their pots on a stage.
We had a good time in our caravan and a good chat at the Coffee morning.
We had a visit from a friend of Eddy's who brought his classic car to show and I was impressed by the quality of the rebuild.
Our tyre couldn't be repaired

Nice and quiet
